60+ MINISTRY Finishing Well for God’s Glory
Woodcreek's 60+ ministry exists to build, equip, encourage, serve, and finish well for the glory of God.
We are a vibrant and welcoming community dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, social, and personal growth of adult seniors. This ministry is tailored to provide our senior members with enriching experiences, meaningful fellowship, and opportunities to deepen their faith. The 60+ Ministry at Woodcreek Church is more than just a gathering; it's a community where lasting friendships are formed, where laughter and stories are shared, and where the wisdom of years is honored and valued. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and to embarking together on this journey of faith and fellowship!
"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."
1 Corinthians 15:58
Key Moments
THURSDAY GATHERINGS
In 2024, the 60+Ministry has quarterly events. These gatherings are scheduled for the third Thursday of April, July, and October. Mark your calendars for April 19th, July 19th, and October 18th to ensure you don't miss out on these wonderful opportunities to connect with fellow adult seniors and engage in activities designed to uplift and inspire.
SPECIAL SPEAKERS
A highlight of this year's program was the 7-part study series led by Hal Habecker, focusing on his acclaimed "Seven Essentials for Finishing Well" curriculum. This series was an exceptional opportunity for our seniors to explore and discuss principles that are vital for leading a fulfilling and spiritually rich life in their later years. Hal Habecker's insights offered valuable guidance and encouragement to seniors looking to make the most of every moment.
Our ministry is open to all seniors looking for a supportive community to share in their faith journey. Whether you are a long-time church member or new to the community, we welcome you to join us.
Technically, a senior is anyone 55+ (qualifies for senior discounts), whereas the generally accepted age that means someone is a “senior” and eligible for government benefits (Social Security, Medicare) is 65+. Senior Friends Ministry’s desire is to minister to anyone who is retired, semi-retired, still working, or just considers themselves as a “senior” no matter whether someone is 55, 65, 75, 85+.
Details about upcoming events are communicated through our church's website, ENEWS, our Senior Friends Group App, and announcements during services. You can also call the church office at (972) 238-8722.
Most of our events are free, but some special outings or materials for study series may require a nominal fee. Any costs will be clearly communicated ahead of time, and we strive to keep events accessible to everyone.

"The more I studied what the Bible says about aging and God’s purposes for His people, the more I realized that the only “expiration date” on Jesus’ call to me to be His disciple, teach His Word, love people, and help mentor the next generation is when my work is finished, and He takes me to heaven. Until then, I’m to fulfill God’s will and purposes for me every day and in every stage of life."
