PRAYER

...to be a House of Prayer

The prayer ministry at Woodcreek Church exists to deepen our connection with God individually and in community while experiencing God’s transforming presence.

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”
Colossians 4:2

"The very first thing I did, when I started attending Woodcreek Church 8 years ago, was to join the Sunday morning prayer team. I haven't missed many of those meetings since then, even though it requires getting to church by 8:25 in the morning. I consider it a great privilege to gather and pray for our church, each other and the world."

Key Moments

  • Sunday Morning Prayer (weekly) - praying in community is vital to the health of our church.  We gather every Sunday morning at 8:25 a.m. in the Living Room to pray over the teaching pastor, Hospitality volunteers, worship leaders, Kidcreek teachers, and requests from the previous week's prayer email.

  • Prayer Email (weekly) - a space where individuals can submit prayer requests and pray for others.

  • Prayer Night (monthly) - we desire to come together as a community of believers to pray for our church, our community, and our nation. On the first Sunday night of every month, we will gather at 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium for corporate prayer.

  • Prayer Retreat (seasonally) - a special time dedicated to slowing down, being still, and immersing ourselves in God's presence through various spiritual practices.

Why Pray?

We desire to help you cultivate a life of prayer individually. As we spend time in His presence talking to him, listening to him, reading His word, and meditating on His word, eventually, we will grow to a place in our relationship with God where we recognize and understand what He is saying to us.

How to Pray?

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray in Luke 11.

Now, Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.”
Luke 11:1-4

“Being a part of Woodcreek’s prayer team allows me to better love God and others by more faithfully rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep. It’s a humbling honor to walk through difficulties with others, to stand against our enemy’s attacks on God’s children, and to petition for Woodcreek’s internal spiritual health and external spiritual impact.”
