WHAT?! A New Website?!

Hey there, Woodcreek family! It’s Monica Pierce, your Communications Director, coming at you from our shiny new “What’s New” section of our equally shiny new website. If you’re reading this, it means we’ve finally crossed the finish line on this marathon of a project!

All throughout this website rebuild, I kept thinking of this verse:

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up…”

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV

How can a website be used to build His Kingdom? Because of this call, the COMMS Team’s vision for our website is that it becomes more than just our digital presence. We hope it will serve as a front door, always open to anyone looking to join our community and connect with Christ and our church in real and practical ways. We want to equip the saints (that’s you!). We hope woodcreekchurch.com is not just a space for information but is a springboard for spiritual formation. We are using our gifts to glorify God and encourage others. We hope this new layout will make it easier for you to do the same!

The NEW woodcreekchurch.com

Alright, let’s dive into what’s new and awesome, shall we?

  • Stay in the Know: This space right here, the “What’s New” section, is where you’ll find all the latest happenings and need-to-knows (think special announcements, inclement weather, ministry highlights, new resources, financial updates…). It’s like the morning announcements at school but cooler and less about lunch menus.
  • Ministry Pages 2.0: Each ministry now has its own FAQ and Resource Page because, let’s face it, we all have questions, and we all love knowing the answers. We’ll add more as we discover what ya’ll need and what aligns with our mission to help and equip us to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ!
  • Communication Tools: Because COMMS wants to help make it easier for you to connect and find community, here are some suggested methods-
    • Church Center App: This is your app for all things Woodcreek. Seriously, we recommend you download this app. It’s available for both iPhone and Android users.
    • CULTIVATE: This is your Monday email that is designed to help you prepare for Sunday. It’s a space for the preaching pastor to share, in advance, what passages he will be covering and allow you time to be in the Word. Subscribe today!
    • ENEWS: Events, registrations, announcements, reminders, and all things happening at Woodcreek Church. This goes out on Thursday afternoons and is updated weekly. Sign up today!
    • Post Script: If you have not done so, you should totally subscribe to the Preaching Team podcast called Post Script. Each week the teaching pastor is given space to share what didn’t make the 30 minute cut on Sunday. It’s good stuff! If you have questions, you can even reach out to the team beforehand by emailing [email protected]. Search for the Post Script on your fav platform like Spotify.
    • Prayer Newsletter: This is a special way for you to join hands with our church family in prayer every Friday. By participating, you’ll have the opportunity to pray for others and share your own prayer requests. It’s a beautiful picture of community. Join us!

Staff Shout Out

Massive shoutout to the other COMMS Team members, Sean Matthews, our incredible Communications Coordinator, and Jon Dunlop, the Videographer extraordinaire. These guys made magic happen on a timeline. This took so much work (read: lots of prayer, planning, pivots, hard work, and coffee), but we did it! Great job, guys! You crushed it!

Stay Tuned

Remember, y’all; this is just the start of using this space as a resource for Kingdom building. We have plans, but ultimately, we are listening and letting the Lord lead. As we continue to expand how this site will serve you, please email me if you have questions.

I love my job, I love you guys, and I’m beyond blessed to use my gifts in a way that glorifies God and serves this community. I pray this site becomes a valuable tool for you to engage in ministry where you live, work, and play.

With gratitude,

Monica Pierce, Communications Director
