Good Friday & Easter | 2026

Church, this weekend matters.

Itโ€™s easy to let the annual rhythm of the calendar feel like a routine, but we never want to lose the wonder of the invitation. We arenโ€™t just hosting a service; we are sharing the best story ever told. From the heavy silence of the cross to the overwhelming joy of the empty tomb, this is the story that changes everything. Here is a reminder of what you need to know and how you can be a part of what’s happening…

Before the celebration, we begin in the quiet.

The Descent to Death
Friday, April 3 | 7:00 p.m.

Before the celebration, we begin in the quiet. Our Good Friday service is a “Service of Shadows.” Through Scripture and song, the lights will gradually dim, creating space for deep solitude and reflection on the weight of the cross. We gather in this tension so that Easter morning doesnโ€™t just feel like a tradition but it feels like a triumph.

Focus on the Cross: Childcare is available for kids ages 5 and under. We want you to be fully present, so let us handle the rest.

The Eternal Victory
Then, we celebrate. With the Woodcreek Choir lifting their voices and a message centered on The Eternal Victor, we will proclaim the truth: Jesus did not stay in the grave. He is risen and reigning in power!

This is not just another service. This is the story that changes everything.

Childcare is available for newborns through 5th grade in Kidcreek, so families can attend with confidence.

“He is not here, but has risen.” โ€” Luke 24:6 (ESV)

Our Part in the Story

We arenโ€™t just attending; we are hosting. We want to create a space where our neighbors feel they belong the moment they pull into the lot.

1. Serve: Weโ€™ve had an incredible response so far, but a few critical gaps remain for this Sunday. We specifically need Communion Ushers (helping guests find seats and facilitating our sacred moments).

  • 9:00 a.m. โ€“ 3 spots left
  • 11:00 a.m. โ€“ 3 spots left

2. Invite: Who do you know that needs to hear this story? The “Eyeball Invite” is the most powerful tool you have. Look a friend in the eye and say, “I want you there with me.” Then, share woodcreekchurch.com/easter with them so they’ll have all the details.

3. Celebrate:

We are asking our church family to park in the overflow lot at 3300 E Renner Rd. By taking that short walk, you are personally ensuring that a visitor or a family with a bulky stroller gets the front-row spot they need. Let’s clear the way for them to meet Jesus!

What to Tell Your Guests

  • Come as you are: Whether in a suit or sweatpants, itโ€™s a “deep breath” environment.
  • Kidcreek is ready: Full programming for newborns through 5th grade.
  • Itโ€™s Relevant: The teaching is grounded in the Bible and made for real life.

Your Next Steps

  • Pray for your “one” person this week.
  • Invite them personally and text the link.
  • Sign up to fill our final usher and parking needs.
  • Park in the overflow (3300 E Renner Rd) to save the closest spots for families with strollers.

Letโ€™s not let the rhythm of the season dull the awe of the Gospel.

Letโ€™s fill the room and make Jesus famous. See you Friday.
