Operation Christmas Child

This holiday season, we are excited to come together as a church family for something new! For the very first time, Woodcreek Church is participating in Operation Christmas Child as an All-Church Initiative. Through this ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, we have the privilege of sharing God’s love with children around the world in a simple, tangible way - one shoebox at a time.

Every shoebox is more than just toys, school supplies, or hygiene items. This is an opportunity for a child to hear about the hope we have in Jesus. On average, each box represents 10 gospel shares. Last year alone, these shoeboxes helped reach 365 unreached people groups, up from 200 the year before! What’s more, about 1,000 new churches are planted every year as a direct result of this ministry.

Why We’re Packing Together

Operation Christmas Child has shared that they are never short on people willing to share the gospel—they are only limited by the number of shoeboxes received. That’s why this year, instead of everyone packing individually, we are bulk packing together. By purchasing items in bulk, we can pack almost double the number of boxes for the same cost, which means double the gospel shares for the same amount of money!

And the impact lasts a lifetime. Each child only receives one shoebox ever. The gifts are distributed through local churches in the child’s own language, and follow-up discipleship programs are offered. Since 1993:

  3. Pray: Ask God to use each shoebox to change lives and make His name known.

  • Over 232 million children in more than 170 countries have received a shoebox.
  • Over 46 million children have enrolled in The Greatest Journey, a discipleship program for shoebox recipients.
  • More than 24 million boys and girls have made a decision to follow Christ through this ministry.

The Heart Behind It

This is our first time doing Operation Christmas Child as an all-church initiative, taking the place of Giving Trees this holiday season. We wanted to have a focused effort with lasting impact. OCC gives everyone in our church family a way to join a global mission, regardless of age, finances, or season of life. Think of it as a mission trip without the mission trip cost.

Shopping & Donations

Great news! You don’t need to shop for anything—everything is already provided. We’ve stocked toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and fun gifts, all ready for you to pack. The very best way to help is by giving financially, which will cover the cost of these pre-purchased items and allow us to maximize how many boxes we can send out together.

Logistics

While the All-Church Pack Party on Sunday, November 16 is the obvious main event deadline, we encourage everyone not to wait until the last minute.

  • Serving: Volunteer spots can fill up quickly. The sooner you sign up, the more likely you are to get plugged into the team where you’ll be most helpful. Don’t miss the chance to be part of the process from the ground up.

  • Giving: The same goes for giving. Your generosity fuels this ministry, and acting early allows us to prepare well and maximize our impact.

Financial Giving

Yes! In fact, we are asking everyone to give financially rather than purchasing items or boxes on their own.

All of the items needed for the boxes have already been purchased in faith, trusting that God will provide the funds through His people. When you give, you’re helping cover the cost of these supplies and ensuring that every child receives a box.

There are two ways to be part of a Pack Party:

  1. Sign-Up – Sign up to serve at one Pack Party by clicking the “Volunteer Your Time” button above.

  2. Show-Up – Come join the fun at another Pack Party. You don’t need to register to attend—just show up!

Our goal is for everyone to serve at one and attend another.
