It is a community of local college kids, as well as a home to come back to whenever you are in North Dallas. Starts Wednesday, May 15th! Unite is a summer college program centered on cultivating Christ-focused community for 18-23 year olds. We meet at 8:59pm in Wednesdays in the Creekside room at Woodcreek. See ya there!

There is a ton going on this summer and we wanted to give you sneak peak so you can mark the calendar for the bigger events:

Sat, May 18 – 5k WildRun race against Cancer. We will be running in the morning, and hanging out at the wildlflower arts festival afterwards! Richardson, Tx

Fri, May 24 – Road Trip to Ennis Drive-in. Come catch some outdoor flix with us! International Students are encouraged to join us for this truly american experience.

Sat, June 8 – LakeDay 2013. This is the big one! We will be doing everything lake related out at East Fork Park in Lake Lavon. Pre-orders start soon for t-shirts.

June 29 – July 5 – Red River Hiking Trip. Spots are limited on this overnight hike in the mountains of New Mexico.  This trip will not be as grueling as last year’s, but we will still see the same amazing views and backcountry lakes. After the hike we will stay in rustic Red River to celebrate July 4th in style!

August ? – Cross-Church Chili Cook-off. We are in the planning process of a young adult chili cook-off at the park with other young adult ministries.  Get your recipes perfected!

Not to mention night frisbee, service projects, international friendship partnerships, communion dinners, BYO Lunch at the Park, the Gathering, Summer bible studies . . .

For the next few weeks we will be discussing Christianity and American politics.  Bruce Grantham, Matt Rushing, and Katie Miller are leading us through critical issues, questions and resources that will guide us toward practical participation in government and politics.  Can we exhibiting the character and values of Jesus Christ while also honoring our nation and its leaders? What is our responsibility as Christ followers in politics? Find us at the Gathering in Creekside Sundays at 11am.

Every Sunday after the Gathering we will be enjoying lunch at Breckenridge Park (C Lot).  So grab something on the way out – byo food, games, frisbess, whatever!  See you there.  If weather is bad, we will relocate to Matt and Kevin’s place: 6014 jester dr, Garlamd TX

We are heading up to Oklahoma for some good ol fashioned camping in Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge.  Cost is $30 and spots are limited to get yourself signed up!

Join us for some chinese at 6pm before game night! At 7:30 we will head over to David’s new apartment to get the games going!  Bring a friend,  Bring some games.

So what’s the deal with the Holy Spirit?

This week at the Gathering Scott Stonehouse will be speaking on the person of the Holy Spirit.  Meet us in the Creekside room at 11am and get ready to praise God and hear what the Bible has to say about the Holy Spirit.  Come be encouraged and challenged to know God as He has revealed Himself.

Join us at the Hunt’s Place for a night of worship in prayer and song. Matt and Daisy Hunt invite all of us to come over to their apartment for a special time of praise and worship!

Directions:
South, East corner of Renner and North Star, the apartment sign says “Breckenridge Point”. Go through the gate on the right side, the code is 0101. To get to building 22, take the first right inside the complex, and park! It is really easy to get to.

Grab your garden gloves and come help us clear up a church family’s yard to prepare it to be sold.  Saturday March 2 at 9am we are going to the Blow house in Carrolton to lend them a hand.  They’ve asked for 10 people so grab a friend and let’s get it done!  RSVP on the Facebook event page. More details to come including tools and materials needed and specific projects. So far we are looking at clearing brush, trimming trees, mowing and edging, staining a deck, and possibly painting.  MAP
