We believe there is only one God and that He exists as three distinct, co-eternal, co-equal persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe this mystery, which we call the Trinity, is how God reveals Himself in the Bible.
About the Father
We believe the Father is the first person of the Trinity and, therefore, fully God. We believe that He directs all things for His own purpose and glory. We believe He is perfectly good, loving, just and holy. We believe that He cares about and is involved in what is going on in the world. We believe that He cares about us and that He hears and answers our prayers. We believe that He forgives all who place their faith in Jesus.
About the Son
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. We believe He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the virgin Mary. We believe He is one man with two natures: fully God and fully man. We believe that He was without sin, yet died in our place for our sins. We believe that He was raised from the dead and that all those who trust Him for their salvation will be forgiven and declared righteous.
About the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and, therefore, fully God. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin, turns people to God, and gives them the ability to live a holy life. When someone trusts in Jesus, the Holy Spirit permanently indwells them. It is the Holy Spirit that makes each follower of Jesus a member of the body of Christ, the church.
We believe that people are saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is not a result of any good works that someone does. It is completely and totally a result of God’s goodness because of what Jesus has done. The faith that brings salvation is more than just head knowledge, but involves all of who we are. It means trusting that because we believe that Jesus died for our sins and was raised from the dead, God will forgive us.
About the Bible
We believe the Bible is the Word of God. We believe it is true in all that it teaches and without error in the original writings. We believe it has authority over us. We believe the Bible should be read and understood in its normal sense, meaning poetry should be read as poetry, history should be read as history, figures of speech understood as figures of speech, etc. We believe the Holy Spirit helps believers understand the Bible.
About Jesus’ Return
We believe that Jesus is returning! Actually returning in the flesh for everyone to see! We believe when He returns He will come with great glory and honor and set up His kingdom from which He will reign over the whole earth.
