Hurricane Harvey Relief:   Help Here

1 Peter 2:2

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.

Have you ever heard a baby cry because they are hungry, or have you ever experienced being “hangry”? A time where you were so hungry you were angry at the same time?  This is how we should feel about our desire to be in God’s Word. Not that we should be angry, but we should crave His Word like our favorite food. It should be the only thing we long for. When a baby longs to be fed it will cry out, it should be the same with us and our spiritual life. We should crave and desire to read God’s Word. It should put us in a bad mood when we are unable to meet with God in His Word. We should feel different or have that starving feeling that makes us cry out when we miss our quiet time.

  1. When was your last quite time? There is no wrong answer just be honest.
  2. Do you get “hangry” when you haven’t read God’s Word? Do you feel the pain of not connecting with God and feeling like your are spiritual starving?
  3. Take a few minutes right now to read a few verses of scripture, take a moment and pray those word to God and tell him what is going on in your life.
