Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
I want this verse to be true of myself daily. It is hard. I don’t want to be the grumbly and argumentative person that I am more often than not. I want to be without blame. I want to stand out from the crooked world I live in. What is your desire? Do you like the way that life is moving for you? Are you shining as a light to the world? In order to accomplish the expectation that this verse sets, we must be in the Word. The Word must be the compelling force for us daily. If we don’t, it is as though we run in vain, without a purpose.
- Do you see yourself as a light in this world? How bright of a light do you think you are?
- How often are you the one who is down grumbling about all that you have to do? What makes you grumble the most?
- Write a prayer about how you want your life to be a shining example of Gods light and life.
