LOVE & RESPECT is a marriage class offered by Woodcreek Church.  This video study on marriage by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, and is founded on Ephesians 5:33, “each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”  This DVD-based study will teach you the key Biblical principles for building and maintaining a vibrant and healthy marriage.  Learn how loving her the way she so desires and giving him the respect that he so desperately needs are the keys to a happy and successful marriage. And perhaps the most cruel blow when crisis strikes is that the suffering persists long after the doctors, the ministers, the friends and family have returned to more pressing needs.

Stephen Ministry is a part of Woodcreek’s Life Care Ministry to provide ongoing comfort for those people left to suffer in silence. And an important aim is to ensure that the lay ministers caring for people in spiritual and emotional pain are equipped to provide a safe, confidential, and comforting environment in which to heal.

Stephen Ministers offer care and support for people experiencing life difficulties such as the death of a loved one, job crisis, aging, separation or divorce, long-term illness, or for those needing the support of a Christian friend. They will receive 50 hours of intensive training covering topics such as effective listening, confidentiality, the stress of hospitalization, feelings, and utilizing community resources.

Stephen Ministry is a confidential ministry; those receiving care can be sure that their identity and what goes on in the caring relationship will remain private. In addition to the training, these caregivers will continue to receive twice-monthly continuing education and supervision support sessions as they strive to offer the highest-quality Christian caregiving.

We are starting a new training session in October and end after 50 hours of training in February. The meetings will be held on Monday nights beginning at 6:30 p.m. Download an application or pick one up in the church office.
