The foundation for any society is the family and the foundation of the family is the marriage. It’s hard to overestimate the importance of good, strong, healthy marriages. Here at Woodcreek Church we approach our marriage ministry at three basic stages: Pre-Marriage, Young Marrieds and Marrieds.
If you are within your first three years of marriage then we would want to encourage you to consider being part of a Foundation Group. A Foundation Group is a group of 4-6 young married couples along with an older married couple who are in a small group for 18 months going through a series of marriage curriculum. The importance of having a group of people and an older mentor couple to walk with during these first few, critical years of marriage is tremendous. These Foundation Groups then turn in to Community Groups. Learn more about Foundation Groups here.
If you have been married for awhile or simply don’t fall into the “young” category anymore, our primary marriage ministry program for you is called re|engage. It is every Monday night at 6:45 pm in the Timbers room. Childcare is available. There is a large group time with a marriage testimony or teaching and then a small group time where you will end up going through a 16-week marriage curriculum with the same group of 4-6 couples and a mentor couple. Like the Foundation Groups, the vision is that these re|engage closed groups turn into Community Groups. Re|engage is for couples who would rate their marriage as a -5, a 2, or a 7 or 8. It is not just about staying married, but having the kind of marriage God intends and wants for couples to have. Find out more information about re|engage here.
Another option for married couples is a 13-week class called Love & Respect, based on the book. This class is offered twice a year on Sunday mornings during the 9:30 service. To sign up for an upcoming class or to be notified when the next class is offered visit the Love & Respect page.
